“Destination: Done” Days Announced for Incoming and Current Students

Students interested in enrolling for the fall 2018 semester are invited to attend “Destination: Done” days starting Monday, August 13 at Lake Michigan College. Staff from the admissions, advising, billing and financial aid, housing, placement, and records and registration offices will be on hand to help current, new and prospective students prepare for the fall semester.

Students may visit the Benton Harbor campus to get help on a first come, first served basis from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesdays. Appointments will be available from 9 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Fridays for those students who need to meet at prearranged times or have additional enrollment steps to complete.

The Niles at Bertrand Crossing campus will be able to help students work on their steps to enrollment on a walk-in basis from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Fridays.

Students may visit the South Haven campus anytime between the hours of 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Fridays, August 17 and 24 by appointment.

Students who plan to seek help at an LMC campus must sign in one hour prior to the closing times listed.

“We know that summer is a busy time. By offering a convenient, full-service option, students can visit us as their schedule allows and get everything done in preparation for the fall semester,” said Vice President, Student Engagement and Support Barbara Craig.

Students who need to apply for financial aid should bring a copy of their 2016 federal income tax return. If they were listed as a dependent on a parent’s tax return, they should bring a copy of their parent’s return. They should also bring copies of 2016 W-2s and documentation of other income not listed on their W-2s, as well as bank statements and their social security number.

New or prospective students should send their ACT or SAT scores, high school transcripts and any previous college transcripts to Lake Michigan College to determine which classes best suit their abilities. Placement testing will be available for students who need additional testing or for those without test scores.
