Orientation is the next step!
What is orientation?
New Student Orientation at Lake Michigan College is designed to help you become familiar with the College environment and learn strategies for a successful start to your educational journey. You will be introduced to Lake Michigan College’s campus, programs, policies, services, and student resources.
Orientation can also be an opportunity for you to meet and connect with other new students, as well as with faculty and staff members who can provide support and guidance throughout your time at the college.
LMC's orientation days include:
- Registering for your classes
- Learning how to be successful in your program
- Getting to know your fellow Red Hawks
- Meeting with key faculty and staff
- Getting your questions answered so you're ready for the upcoming semester!
On your orientation day, please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the start time in order to check in. Check out LMC's campus maps and location info so you know where to go for your orientation session. Parents/guardians are welcome to accompany their student, as we have a special orientation session for you!

Instructions: Use your LMC username and password to log in. The orientation should take around 40 minutes to complete.
Students are expected to go through New Student Orientation before enrolling for classes at LMC.
Upcoming Orientations
LMC’s Student Orientation and Registration (SOAR) days are designed to help you become familiar with LMC and learn strategies for a successful start to your educational journey. All new students are required to attend a SOAR where you will be introduced to Lake Michigan College programs, policies, services, and student resources. Parents can join for the morning sessions but will excused at 11:30 am (to return for a campus tour and to pick-up students after 3 pm).

High school students registered for Dual Enrollment courses at LMC have new student orientations as well.
Orientation dates for Spring 2024 semester Dual Enrollment students will be announced soon.
(Dual enrollment courses are traditional college classes usually held on an LMC campus, your local high school, or regional tech center.)
