Jacob's Ladder Presentation
United States
Nikola Tesla was a pioneer in electrical transfer to show us how to move electricity from one place to the other without wires. The Jacob’s Ladder has been around for a hundred years and is one of the best known displays of electricity today.
The Project: Electrical Jacob’s Ladder and High Voltage discharge coils.
What is it?.... It is a demonstration of two electrical displays.
We will be building a wooden case with a plexiglass front. All electrical components will be visible for show and tell. Switches will be available for people to activate each display. This will be a hands on working display. The voltages will be between 10,000 and 50,000 volts.
We welcome you to come take part of this demonstration. We will be building a case for it, so you'll be able to help if you want to, otherwise, we welcome you to just come, hang out and watch the coolness unfold (and learn a little about electricity in the process!)
The Fab Lab at Lake Michigan College is an open access digital fabrication studio and collaborative workshop.
