LMC's Career Services provides assistance to job seekers as well as local employers. Students and alumni should contact careerservices@lakemichigancollege.edu for assistance. Local employers can email workforce@lakemichigancollege.edu for information on upcoming job fairs and for information on posting jobs on College Central.

Whether you are seeking a part-time job to earn money while in school, an internship or co-op position to complement your classroom education, ready to find a full-time position in your new career, or an alumna seeking support or new opportunities, Career Services is here to provide you the assistance you need.

Full-Time and Part-Time Job Postings

As a student, other opportunities available to you include work-study positions, co-ops, internships and job shadowing.

Work Study

Work right on campus through the Work Study program! With a work-study position, you get valuable work experience and marketable skills while being right in the middle of all the action on campus. Find out more at about getting experience and earning extra money with the work-study program.

Co-Op

With a cooperative education (co-op) position, you will develop your skills through hands-on experience, combining classroom study with planned, supervised work experience. At Lake Michigan College, a co-op position can be paid or unpaid, and you will earn college credit. Email careerservices@lakemichigancollege.edu or call (269) 927-6596 for details.

Internship

An internship gives you the opportunity to gain valuable work experience, build your resume, and network with local professionals in your chosen area of study. At Lake Michigan College, an internship can be paid or unpaid. You will not earn college credit.

The Earn & Learn Internship Program, sponsored by the Whirlpool Foundation, provides paid summer internships to LMC students. Applications are due mid-April for the following summer.

Job Shadowing

Job shadowing is the perfect way for you to explore different career interests by accompanying or shadowing an experienced worker throughout a typical workday. You will gain a better understanding of what it is really like to work in that particular field. At Lake Michigan College, a job shadowing experience is short-term, unpaid, and does not lead to college credit. Email careerservices@lakemichigancollege.edu or call (269) 927-6596 for details.

Apprentice Training

The Apprentice Training Department works with over forty companies that have active apprenticeship programs. The LMC Apprentice Training Department can assist you in finding a company with an approved program if you are not already employed by one.
