Intro CNC Router (ShopBot)

Learn ShopBot CNC basics, safety and applications. This introductory course will cover machine operations and software to get you running a CNC in just a few hours. This is a hands on class, please wear appropriate shop clothing and closed toed shoes to participate. Safety protection will be provided.

Some previous items made with the shopbot include chairs, wooden dining room tables, craft beer flight boards, address signs, and more.

No prior software or training required.

Age: 12-17 allowed with a parent or guardian registered and attending the class.

The Fab Lab at Lake Michigan College is an open access digital fabrication studio and collaborative workshop. We provide access to information, tools, software and space for anyone who has an interest to learn and create. The Fab Lab provides open access to design software, laser cutters, 3D printers, vinyl cutters, sewing machines, mini-lathes, woodshop, CNC router (ShopBot) and hand tools.
