About International Education Week
International Education Week is an annual celebration organized by NAFSA: Association of International Educators, a leading organization committed to international education and exchange, working to advance policies and practices that build global citizens with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in today’s interconnected world.

Lake Michigan College’s mission includes a charge to develop an international perspective that prepares students and develops employees and community members for a world economy and global citizenship.

In recent years LMC has bolstered efforts in this area by offering students month-long, study abroad opportunities in Salmanca, Spain. The third group of Intensive Spanish Language Course students are preparing to leave in May.

The college also began offering English as a Second Language classes for the general community last year, and English for Academic Purposes to currently enrolled students who desire to improve their English language skills.

The addition of LMC’s first student residence hall in 2014 has opened more opportunities for students from around the world to live and study at Lake Michigan College. Currently 42 international students are enrolled at LMC.
