Auditions scheduled for LMC’s production of ‘Sweeney Todd’

Calling all students, singers, actors, staff, faculty, and community members! Lake Michigan College’s Visual & Performing Arts Department is holding auditions for its Spring musical, “Sweeney Todd, The Demon Barber of Fleet Street” from 5-9 p.m. Monday, Jan. 24 and Tuesday, Jan. 25 in Deckmann Studio, Mendel Center, on LMC’s Benton Harbor campus.  

Bring a resume and a photo and prepare to sing 16-32 bars of a song from, or in the style of, the musical, and perform a short monologue from the audition packet. Sign up for an audition time and download an audition packet at Audition packets are also available in LMC’s VPA office. 

Rehearsals begin Sunday, Jan. 30. Performances are April 7-9. To participate, proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required or weekly testing with approved exemptions.  

The musical features music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and a book by Hugh Wheeler from an adaptation by Christopher Bond. Paul Mow directs.
