Lake Michigan College, Southwest Michigan Regional Chamber seek applications for Leadership Accelerator Program

The Leadership Accelerator Program at Lake Michigan College is now accepting applications for its upcoming cohort scheduled to begin on Jan. 25, 2024.

Run in partnership between LMC and the Southwest Michigan Regional Chamber of Commerce with support from the Leadership Advisory Council, this intensive seven-month program is designed to engage, empower, and develop the next generation of leaders in Southwest Michigan.

"Participating in the Leadership Accelerator program is a fast track to personal and professional growth," LMC Provost and Vice President of Academics Dr. Kenneth Flowers said. "It's not just about learning to lead; it's about becoming the kind of leader who inspires, empowers, and makes a lasting impact."

"Leadership Accelerator empowers individuals to become effective leaders, capable of driving positive change in their workplace as well as in our community," said Arthur Havlicek, President & CEO of the Southwest Michigan Regional Chamber. "We are proud to partner with LMC in developing this next cohort of confident, adaptable, and influential leaders for our region."

The Leadership Accelerator Academy begins Jan. 25, 2024, featuring 12 instructional half-day sessions on Thursdays twice a month and one full-day session at the state capitol in Lansing.

Program sessions are taught by a diverse group of local leaders and are held at LMC's Benton Harbor Campus, 2755 E. Napier Ave., Benton Harbor. Each session centers on a distinct leadership skill. Program topics include critical thinking, inclusion, collaborative decision-making, emotional intelligence, community awareness and engagement, politics and leadership, and more.

Ideal candidates for Leadership Accelerator are individuals in high-impact roles and emerging or current leaders throughout the community seeking to increase their leadership capacity. The cost of the program is $1,500. Participants receive a certificate upon completion.
