Hiring & Career Exploration Fair to be Hosted by Lake Michigan College April 15
BENTON HARBOR, Mich. – Community members and Lake Michigan College students are invited to meet with employers and educators during the Red Hawk Future Fair. The free hiring and career exploration open house, hosted by the College, is being held from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 15, on the LMC Benton Harbor Campus in L-310 and L-311.
More than 30 southwest Michigan employers, who are actively recruiting for full- and part-time jobs as well as internships, will be on hand to discuss openings and career pathways within their organizations.
“We are glad to welcome so many organizations to campus who are committed to growing talent in our region. Whether you're just starting out or ready for your next step, this is a great chance to meet employers face to face and learn what's out there,” stated Kathi Szabo, LMC Student Success Coach.
Szabo added that the Future Fair is being held as part of LMC’s Sustainability Week, adding a unique focus to this year’s event. There is a special highlight on employers with sustainability initiatives and environmentally responsible practices. Attendees can learn how different industries are integrating sustainability into their operations and workforce practices.
Red Hawk Future Fair attendees can expect a free-flowing atmosphere where they can move between employer tables to learn about available positions. Opportunities are available across a number of industries including healthcare, human services, hospitality, construction and home improvement, manufacturing, local government, business, and military.
University representatives will also be on hand to discuss available degree programs, campus information, and application procedures for those looking to earn a bachelor’s degree.

No registration is required for job seekers. Attendees are encouraged to bring a resume and come prepared to discuss their availability and interests. The campus is located at 2755 E. Napier Avenue. Free parking is available in the front student parking lot. Attendees should use the front entrance and follow the stairs to the first floor. Elevator and stair access to the event is located near the LMC library entrance.
