LMC Red Hawk student-athletes receive statewide accolades for academic excellence
Three Red Hawk sports also spotlighted for team academic success
BENTON HARBOR, Mich. – Student-athletes from all nine Lake Michigan College intercollegiate sports teams have received statewide recognition for classroom excellence from the Michigan Community College Athletic Association.
The recent MCCAA announcement for the 2025-2026 season included 62 LMC players. Among them are 51 who have earned individual Academic All-MCCAA status for a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or better, and 11 recognized as individual Academic All-Conference recipients for a GPA of 3.00 to 3.199.
Additionally, the Red Hawk Women’s Soccer, Men’s Cross Country, and Women’s Volleyball teams have been named MCCAA All-Academic Teams for 2025-2026. To achieve MCCAA All-Academic Team status, an MCCAA-sponsored sport must record a 3.00 cumulative team GPA across its full roster for the academic year.
“Our student-athletes continue to represent Lake Michigan College with excellence, demonstrating leadership, resilience, and determination both in competition and in the classroom," said LMC Athletic Director Sarah Svoboda. "Their academic success reflects the same commitment and work ethic they bring to their sports every day. We are incredibly proud of their accomplishments and grateful to our coaches, faculty, and staff whose mentorship and support help our Red Hawks reach their full potential both on and off the field.”
