2026 Alumni Achievement Award: Nicholas Miller
Nicholas Miller graduated from Lake Michigan College in 2015 with an Associate in Applied Business in Computer Information Systems. A first-generation, nontraditional student, Nick chose LMC for its affordability, accessibility, and hands-on learning opportunities. Through the College’s work-study program, he gained valuable IT experience that launched a career that continues at LMC today.
As an Infrastructure and Cybersecurity Engineer at Lake Michigan College, Nick safeguards the College’s IT infrastructure and helps protect student, faculty, and staff data. He is AWS-certified and is currently pursuing an ethical hacking certification as he continues expanding his expertise in cybersecurity.
Beyond his professional work, Nick is deeply committed to serving his community. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he 3D-printed hundreds of mask guards for hospitals and essential workers across the country. He also volunteers with the Berrien County Suicide Prevention Coalition and contributes his woodworking skills to the Little Free Library Network, helping bring books to underserved communities.
In his free time, Nick creates family-friendly Minecraft content on YouTube and enjoys 3D printing and woodworking at home.
Nick looks forward to a long career at Lake Michigan College, the institution that changed the course of his life and gave him the opportunity to build a career serving the same community that helped him succeed.
