How to become a Red Hawk
in 5 easy steps

Ready to become a Red Hawk? Follow the steps below and you'll be on your way! Call or text Admissions at (269) 927-8626 if you have questions.

Step 1: Apply

Start your LMC journey by applying to Lake Michigan College. It takes about ten minutes and there's no application fee.

    • Once you apply, you will receive an email to let you know your application was received and that a member of our admissions team will be in touch.

Step 2: Place

Send us your ACT or SAT test scores or your college transcripts. No transcripts? No problem! You can take a placement test at the testing center located on any LMC campus. Testing is free. Testing and test scores won't have an effect on your college enrollment, but it will help us figure out which classes are right for you.

  • Send Us Test Scores or Take a Placement Test

    • ACT school code: 1976
    • SAT school code: 1137

Step 2: Apply for Financial Aid and Scholarships

You may qualify for financial assistance from the government or from LMC. You'll need to apply to both.

Step 3: Talk with an Advisor and Register

An advisor will help you plan your classes based on your program of interest and skill level. All students should meet with an advisor to plan their classes in order to meet their educational goals.

Register for classes through WaveLink or stop into one of our campuses and we'll help you register.

Step 5: Attend Orientation

Learn about being successful in college, how to get help when you need it and how to make connections.
