Build the foundation of your career as a marine maintenance technician and help meet this growing job demand in just seven weeks.
Through a combination of online and in-person training, you’ll work toward your lifetime Mercury Marine Technician number and sit for the American Boat & Yacht Council (ABYC) Marine Service Technology Exam.
This industry-recognized program—developed in partnership with the American Boat & Yacht Council, the Michigan Boating Industries Association, and local marinas—teaches the knowledge and skills needed to become an inboard and outboard engine technician. You will also earn valuable certifications, including OSHA 10, American Heart Association First Aid, and CPR/AED.
Most coursework is completed online, with just eight days of essential in-person training:
- One day of safety certifications at the LMC South Haven Campus
- Seven days of hands-on training at Macomb Community College’s state-of-the-art marine facility in Warren, Michigan

Location:
Sessions are conducted virtually and in person through Macomb Community College, with in-person AED, CPR/First Aid training and final assessment held at the LMC South Haven Campus.
