Twenty-three community members were honored on July 14 at Lake Michigan College’s Welch Center for Wine & Viticulture for completing the 2022 Leadership Accelerator Academy.

Lake Michigan College will host its annual high school and middle school volleyball camps this August in the Gymnasium in the Main Building at Lake Michigan College’s Benton Harbor Campus.

Merlin Hanson, a titan of Southwest Michigan industry, died Tuesday, June 21. He was 94 years old. As a community leader, he was instrumental in founding Cornerstone Alliance and supporting Lake Michigan College, alongside several other causes.

Lake Michigan College has announced the names of 759 students recognized for academic achievement during the 2022 Spring semester. 

The U.S. Department of Education has awarded Lake Michigan College a five-year federal Upward Bound grant totaling $1,932,210. 

Two deserving students from Lake Michigan College’s Start-to-Finish program will be awarded $25,000 each ($50,000 total) in scholarship funds as part of the Jack and Barbara Nicklaus KitchenAid Senior PGA Champions for Change Scholarship Program.

After 2020’s ceremonies were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and 2021 festivities were modified to an outdoor drive-thru event, LMC returned to the Mendel Center Mainstage on Sunday, May 1 for its 75th Commencement.
