Enroll and complete the online New Student Orientation Prep session in Canvas

  • Mozilla Firefox is the best browser to get started.
  • Log-in with your WaveLink username and password.
  • Your online work must be done prior to your on-campus session; if you arrive without having completed the online portion, we will ask you to reschedule or stay after.
  • Having trouble logging into Canvas? Here is a Canvas Quick Help Guide.

During the Online Prep portion, you will:

  • Learn about Canvas, the learning management system that will be a big part of the framework of your classes. We're putting this prep portion in Canvas, to help you become familiar with it.
  • Learn about WaveLink, the portal to your records, transcripts, schedule, financial aid awards, and more!
  • Learn about Degree Works, where you can plan, plot and play with your degree plan.
  • Learn about paying for college and financial aid.
  • Learn about Career Coach, where you can explore careers and find your best options.
  • Gain access to resources to refer to when you need them, like WaveLink, placement testing information, Canvas help, and more.
  • Take a few short quizzes to make sure the important stuff sticks.
    • Orientation sessions will begin on time. Check-in 30 minutes prior to your scheduled session.
    • Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.
    • There will be an opportunity to speak with a Financial Aid Coordinator after New Student Orientation.  Sign up is available during check-in.

An optional parent session will be held at each orientation, where we'll help your parents navigate our systems and processes.

All new students must attend orientation. We encourage you to complete the Online Prep portion before attending the On-Campus portion of orientation. If it is not possible for you to get it done beforehand, we may ask you to reschedule so you can make the most of your On-Campus orientation.
