Lake Michigan College’s (the College) social media channels are intended to provide timely information, promote engagement, and support the College’s educational mission. These platforms are considered “limited public forums.”
The College welcomes comments and messages that are relevant to the posted content and contribute constructively to the conversation. Comments posted by members of the public do not reflect the views of the College.
The College reserves the right to remove comments or restrict users who engage in the following conduct:
- Comments or messages that are off-topic or unrelated to the post.
- Repeated posting of the same message or grievance.
- Harassing, threatening, abusive, or defamatory language.
- Disclosure of private, confidential, or personally identifiable information.
- Attempts to resolve individual business, billing, academic, or personnel matters through public comments.
- Content that disrupts the College’s ability to use its social media channels for their intended purpose.
Depending on the nature and frequency of the behavior, the College may:
- Hide or remove comments.
- Limit or restrict user interactions.
- Block users who repeatedly violate these guidelines.
