Make all the world a stage with a degree in the performing arts
Do you love your time in the spotlight? Have you always had a love for music, for performing, for acting? Maybe you enjoy working behind the scenes, helping turn a show into a true production. If so, you might enjoy a career in the performing arts. On stage, you might sing, dance, act or play an instrument. Off stage, you could write or direct the show, build sets, create costumes, mix lighting or run sound.
At LMC, the performing arts program explores all the facets of a career in music and/or theatre. You’ll perform on the Mendel Center stage, getting hands-on experience with every piece of production.

Why study performing arts at LMC?
Put your passion in the spotlight. Whether your love is on stage or off stage, we have a role for you. You might automatically think of singing, dancing, playing an instrument or acting. But there are plenty of roles behind the scenes that play a key part in any production.
Tune in to the possibilities. Behind the scenes, you could design sets, costumes, lighting and music. Or you could be the author of the show, writing plays, scoring music or directing the show.
Rehearse for your future. At LMC, you can earn an associate’s degree in theatre or in music. From there, our advisors can help you transfer to a four-year school and continue your education.
