It has been more than two months since LMC made the shift to remote learning, starting online classes on March 23, the same day Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer issued the first of many stay-at-home orders. In that time, LMC employees rallied around their students by providing financial, technological, and academic help to complete the spring semester. Now, the College is prepared for an all-remote learning summer session and planning several scenarios for the fall semester that could see a full or partial return to campus.

Lake Michigan College is extending the date for its campuses to re-open in response to Michigan’s updated stay-at-home order.  
 

Lake Michigan College’s Benton Harbor campus may be closed for the school year, but its Fab Lab is being put to good use. In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, a handful of technicians are using LMC’s Fab Lab to produce face shields for police officers and other types of workers who must be out in the field to do their jobs.

For the moment, we all live in a stay-at-home-world. However, that doesn't mean live performances need to be on hold. To keep the arts alive during COVID-19 social distancing measures, The Mendel Center is introducing a new, online series: Remotely Interested: Live to Your Living Room.
