Thi Tran is a Ph.D. student in clinical psychology at Western Michigan University. He has two Master’s degrees and a Bachelor’s degree. He is a researcher, instructor, and psychologist. He utilizes scientific methodology and behavioral principles in scholarly writing, didactics, and clinical applications. His interests include health psychology, translational research, process-outcome research, cultural adaptations, and sports psychology. He promotes multiculturalism with aspirations to serve underrepresented and disadvantaged populations. Aside from academics, Thi enjoys playing basketball, being outdoors, and spending time with his family, friends, and dog.

I have Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Social Work. I have a Master’s degree in Physiological Psychology and a Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology with an emphasis on Learning, Memory, and Perception. My Bachelor’s degrees and Master’s degree came from the University of West Florida in Pensacola. My Ph.D. came from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.

I have been teaching Psychology for over 30 years and I love it. I really like getting to know my students and sharing what I know about Psychology. While I was working on my doctorate I worked for the National Park Service in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. I worked as a park ranger in the largest campground for a couple of years. Then I worked for the science division in the park and conducted research with the visitors who came into the park. Let me tell you they had a lot of things they did and thought that make great examples for Psychology.

I love outdoors and traveling especially to wilderness places and national parks. I have a private pilot’s license and used to fly quite a bit but it got too expensive so I don’t do that anymore.

I love animals of all kinds and especially cats. Guess I am a typical crazy old cat lady.

Mrs. Wilczak Wood received her B. A. in French and Anthropology from Central Michigan University, Mt. Pleasant, Michigan and the Universite du Quebec a Chicoutimi, Quebec, Canada. Mrs. Wilczak Wood received her Masters Degree in Art History from Michigan State University, East Lansing, Michigan. During her graduate studies, she worked at the Kresge Art Museum, where she organized an exhibition on Piranesi, The Flint Institute of Arts, where she lectured on Graphic Arts of the 19th and 20th Centuries, and the Detroit Institute of Arts in the Registrar, Graphic Arts and Conservation Departments.
Susan Wilczak Wood has over 20 years of curatorial and fine art management experience during which time she has curated over 100 exhibitions. She has worked with some of the world's finest sculptors and artists through exhibitions and commissions. She has commissioned major works by the glass artist Dale Chihuly and the sculptor Richard Hunt. While playing a part in the Smithsonian Institutes Save Outdoor Sculpture program, she received their Public Awareness Award. She is a former board member of the Michigan Alliance for the Conservation of Cultural Heritage, Michigan Legacy Art Park and the Michigan Museums Association.

Mrs. Wilczak Wood holds a prominent place in the Midwest fine art and sculpture scene directing and managing regional, national and international exhibitions. In the area of public art programming she has worked with city, county and State officials. Over the past years she has been actively involved with the visual arts scene on Curacao, Dutch Caribbean. Her Public Art projects include: Mid Town Detroit, the Detroit River Front Conservancy, the Harbor Shores Community Re-Development project in Benton Harbor Michigan and Harbor Village, St. Joseph, MI.

She has held the position of visiting Lecturer of Art History,at Hope College in Holland, MI and Aquinas College, Grand Rapids, MI. and has taught also at Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, and the Flint Institute of Arts, Flint, MI Currently she is Art Lecturer in the Arts Department at Lake Michigan College, Benton Harbor.

I teach college classes (both on site and online) for several colleges. My primary courses are English Composition I and II, Intermediate Composition, Technical Writing, and Introduction to Film. I also teach education courses (e.g., Exploring Teaching; Education Foundations). I have worked as a freelance writer for a regional women's magazine as well as a writing specialist for a four-year university in Iowa. I am a certified through Pearson Education as an online course developer. I am passionate about empowering students to develop their learning and writing skills in order to not only succeed in their degree programs but make an impact in their schools, communities, and professional endeavors. The fundamentals of communication are an important building block in a student’s education. Understanding how to best communicate is a vital skill for anyone who desires to achieve success in any human endeavor.

Professional/Real-World Experience: I teach a variety of entry level and upper college courses within the English discipline, including composition, literature, technical writing, and film. I also teach education courses for students majoring in education. As a campus writing instructional specialist, I served as a resource to both students and faculty. I served as lead mentor to teaching assistants serving in undergraduate courses.

Kristopher Zook, MM, BM, BM is currently serving Lake Michigan College as the Dean of Arts & Sciences Education, where he oversees the departments of Mathematics, Natural Sciences, Exercise Science & Wellness, Rhetoric, English, Communications & World Languages, Social Sciences, Humanities & Education, Visual & Performing Arts, English as a Second Language, the William Hessel Library, Learning Assistance & Testing Services, the Writing Lab, and the Lake Michigan College Mendel Center.

He additionally maintains an active schedule as conductor, baritone soloist, composer, director and music teacher. Mr. Zook holds a Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy from Westminster Choir College, Princeton, NJ.  Mr. Zook also earned two Bachelor of Music degrees in both Music Education and Composition from Westminster College, New Wilmington, PA.  He has appeared as the Bass Soloist for Mozart’s Requiem with members of the Pittsburgh Symphony, as well as a variety of operatic, oratorio and musical theater roles.  He was twice named Best Actor in Pennsylvania’s longest running Shakespeare Festival and has appeared as a back-up singer for such personalities as Rosemary Clooney and Maya Angelou.  As a chorister he has performed on the regular seasons and recorded on numerous occasions with the Orchestra of St. Luke’s, the NJ Symphony, the Philadelphia Symphony, the Vienna Philharmonic and the New York Philharmonic Orchestras. He has appeared on National Public Radio and PBS Live from Lincoln Center multiple times. Some of which were Grammy nominated recordings.

Conducting credits include the NJ All-State Opera Chorus, the 2002 and 2013 NJ All-Shore Choruses, as well as numerous competitions, national and international performance tours and cameo performances with the rock band, Foreigner, Ben E. King, Joe Piscopo, Deana Martin and Max Weinberg. Mr. Zook has served as a church musician at several houses of worship, including the historic Elberon Memorial Church. Mr. Zook served as a music educator at the Red Bank Regional High School Academy of Visual and Performing Arts, Little Silver, NJ, where he was nominated for a Grammy Award as Music Educator of the Year and separately as a finalist for the Disney Teacher of the Year. Subsequently, he has been the Chair of Visual & Performing Arts/Director of Music at Lake Michigan College in Benton Harbor, MI. 

He founded and directed the Red Bank Regional Summer Academy for the Visual & Performing Arts, an annual summer enrichment program, and RBR’s independent record label, Swashbuckler Records, and the Lake Michigan College WAVE Awards for Excellence in High School Musical Theatre. During the summers he currently serves as a director of the Musical Theatre Intensive and Teenstock Productions. Furthermore, he was the founding director of the Central Jersey Youth Chorale, a community outreach program sponsored by the Count Basie Theatre, Red Bank, NJ. Mr. Zook served as an Adjunct Professor of Voice at Monmouth University and is an active member and clinician for the American Choral Directors Association, Michigan State Vocal Music Association, New Jersey Music Educators Association/ National Association for Music Education, ASCAP and served as the Governor of the New Jersey Chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing.

Mr. Zook’s musical compositions are published by Music Geek Publishing and span the gambit from solo works to grandiose works with multiple choirs and orchestra. Awarded a Count Basie Award for Outstanding Musical Direction, he has been the Musical Director or Artistic Director for numerous staged productions from plays to musicals to operas.  His former students are currently studying at competitive conservatories and music schools, while many have impressive careers in various facets of the music field. His wife, Amanda, and twin daughters, Norah and Eliza, inspire him to live life to the fullest each day.
